One Invisible Wall: Why We Are Alone, Urumqi.
2009, 07, 05. The whole city was in grief.
We Are Strong.
Through visual design a story that hits home.
By delivering two sides of perspective: as an insider voice to describe the incident, to express the emotions, and as a storyteller to express the city is healing the city needs us with kind eyes.
Our internet was blocked for a whole year, severing our connection to the outer world, and every province. We couldn't text each other, we couldn’t go far away for safety or have fun with our friends like we usually did in the old days.
The indignation, the sadness—it’s still here after so many years, but we are survived from that. But there are people still suffering from the trauma, still holding it back. What’s the insight? Why am I scared, why am I angry, why do I still feel emotional about it today?

“RUN, RUN HIS RED EYE..”
“RUN, RUN HIS RED EYE..”

This was a project that I wanted to create a long time ago, I wanted to shout out the sadness the anger the hope the lights.
Starting from researching and incubating this project I did a lot of research about color and emotions everything led me to an artist called Olafur Eliasson. His thoughts and ways of creating and illustrating social awareness have grown in me and somehow inspired me through my way of thinking thesis and this project. I started to use colors and feelings to knit my project to structure and it made a lot of sense at the end.
Even though the process was hard and rough my conclusion was: “My thesis is my process, my process is my thesis”.
